Glamour Magazine's Top Ten College Women
What:
Glamour Magazine's Top Ten College Women looks for college females who are some of the most inspiring females in the country. The contest awards students from a variety of disciplines by recognizing their achievements and their potential for success in their future endeavors.
Who is eligible:
Female juniors who demonstrate academic excellence, extensive community service experience, and the ability to be a campus and community leader. Consideration will be given, but not limited, to students with a 3.7+ GPA.
Selection Procedure:
Students who are interested in applying must submit an entry form, official college transcript, a list of on- and off-campus activities, a 500- to 700-word essay describing your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your field of study and future goals, a personal photograph, and at least two letters of recommendation.
Deadline: UCI 10/26/2010 (projected)
Who wins:
Two UCI students won this award consecutively: Jacqueline Chattopadhyay in 2004 and Tami Bui in 2003.
Winners of the 2009 competition will be notified by May 30, 2010.
Finances:
Winners receive $3,000 cash, a trip to New York City, and recognition in Glamour Magazine.
